Water from the Mosque Should Not Cause Hardship to Passers-by
Question
Our village has been inhabited for about 16/17 years. At first we built a mud-brick mosque; now a solid, beautiful mosque has been built. The boundary wall of the mosque is as high as the head of a standing man, and inside we have kept a little land so that the building can keep expanding along with the growing population of the village. At present castor plants and the like are planted on this land. Inside there are also two washrooms, whose dirty water has gone outside from the very beginning.
Answer
The water of the mosque washrooms should not be drained in such a way that mud forms there and passers-by suffer hardship. If within the enclosure of the mosque there is a place for the water by means of which the road can be kept safe, then the road should be protected. The mutawalli of the mosque has done the right thing.
