Reserving a Place in the Mosque for Someone

Question

What about reserving places in the first row of the mosque or the Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) for the wealthy and the notables?

Answer

There is no right to reserve a place in the first row of the Eidgah or the mosque for the wealthy or for anyone else. Whoever comes first and sits somewhere, that place will be his, and there is also no right to make him get up from there.
