Slaughtering the sacrificial animal in the mosque
Question
What is the ruling on performing the sacrifice inside the mosque, that is, in the mosque courtyard, when splashes of blood fall on the wall of the mosque? And what is the ruling if the splashes do not fall?
Answer
In the part that is the mosque, that is, endowed as waqf for prayer, where prayer is performed, slaughtering is haram, because the mosque will be soiled with impure blood. In the mosque enclosure, where shoes are kept, slaughtering is also prohibited: that place is not endowed as waqf for this. The slaughter should be done elsewhere.
