Building a Religious School in the Name of a Mosque

Question

The Muslims here intend to establish in this city an Islamic mosque, a religious school for children, for which the mosque construction committee has begun work. But some members of the construction committee intend that if the government here is told that the Muslim community wants to build here a youth centre in an oriental style, there is in this way a good chance of obtaining a 75 per cent grant from the government and the local corporation on the amount collected.

Answer

A mosque is a place that is made waqf for prayer, over which no one has the right of disposal as an owner; its way of access is also separate — it should not be that the path lies inside someone’s house, and whenever he wishes he closes his house and those coming to the mosque cannot come; and permission for the adhan and congregational prayer is given there.
