Using the Mosque’s Well, Tap, Bucket and Rope
Question
If there is a well in the mosque or a tap has been installed, may only the worshippers use the water of this well — solely for ablution for prayer — or may other people, residents of the neighbourhood, use it for their necessary needs?
Answer
It is proper to use the water of such a well for other purposes besides prayer as well. However, caution is necessary: if that well is on the floor of the mosque, care should be taken that the floor of the mosque is not soiled with impurity (najasa).
