Giving Mosque Money to the Government

Question

Is it permissible to give the money of mosques to the government in an emergency? Also, on what is it permitted to spend the money of mosques?

Answer

The money of mosques — waqf money, which is an amana (trust) — the mutawalli (trustee) is not permitted to spend anywhere other than on the mosque.
