Using Interest Money for the Lighting of the Mosque and the Like

(1) About fifteen years ago, electrical fittings and a fan were installed in our mosque with the money of people who consume interest. Is this haram according to the Shari‘a or not? Will prayer be valid in this electric light and under this fan or not? (2) What is the ruling on the prayers performed up to today?

Putting money from impermissible income into the mosque is not proper.
