The hide of the sacrificial animal for the imam of the mosque

Question

Question: To whom should the hide of the sacrificial animal be given? Is it valid to give it to the prayer-leading imam of the mosque or not?

Answer

It is permissible to give the sacrificial hide to everyone, rich and poor; it is not a condition for this that the recipient be poor. But if it has been sold, then giving the price as sadaqa, i.e. giving it to a poor person, is wajib. Putting the sacrificial hide to one’s own use — i.e.
