A defect that arose during slaughter
Question
An animal was thrown to the ground for the sacrifice, and as a result its leg broke or its eye was put out — in short, such a defect arose that the sacrifice is no longer valid. What should now be done with this animal?
Answer
It should be sacrificed: if such a defect arises from throwing the animal down for the sacrifice, it does not impair the sacrifice (“Shami”, vol. 5, p. 207).
