A goat whose teeth have worn down from grazing
Question
A he-goat was bought for sacrifice, but its teeth have worn down from grazing and become very small, level with the gums. When its mouth is opened, all the teeth are clearly visible; they are not broken. Will this goat count as hatma’ (هتماء), given that hatma’ means that the teeth have come out from the root?
Answer
Since it grazes with these teeth and obtains its food, its ruling will not be like that of a goat whose teeth have come out and which has become unable to graze. So have no doubt about its sacrifice.
