Did the Ka'ba Go Out to Welcome Hazrat Rabi'a?

Question

How far is it authentic — the report told among the karamat (miracles) of Hazrat Rabi'a al-Basriyya — that when she set out for the Hajj to the House of Allah, the Ka'ba went out some distance to receive her? At that very time, a certain pious man who had arrived in the Haram intending to perform tawaf did not find the Ka'ba there. If this report is authentic, what is its true meaning? Did the Ka'ba itself actually move from its place, or was it a likeness of the Ka'ba?

Answer

This report is not a report of the noble hadith, for which a continuous chain of transmission could be sought and cited; nor is there any need to investigate (tahqiq) it. Relating such things to the common people (‘awam)
