Marwan's Expulsion from Medina and His Return

Question

For what reason did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ expel Marwan, together with his father al-Hakam, from Medina Munawwara, while Hazrat 'Uthman ﵁ later recalled him during his own rule?

Marwan's father had the habit of disclosing the secrets of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to the hypocrites (munafiqun), so he ﷺ expelled him. So it is stated in “al-Isti‘ab”.
