The Wisdom Behind Hiding Hazrat ‘Ali’s Grave

Question

Some people say about Hazrat ‘Ali ﵁ that he was not buried; I have heard from the elders that he was martyred in Kufa — so where was he buried?

Answer

He was martyred in Kufa, but there is disagreement regarding his burial. Had it become known that he was buried in such-and-such a place, the Khawarij might have desecrated his body there; the wisdom in not fixing the burial place is evident.
