The Wives of Hazrat ‘Ali

Question

How long after the passing of the beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ did Hazrat Fatima ﵂ pass away? Did Hazrat ‘Ali ﵁ marry any other woman while she was alive? Which woman did he marry after her death? Did he keep two wives at the same time or not? Did he take part in the war that took place during the caliphate of Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ﵁ or not, and did any woman fall to his share as a captive in that war? If so, what was her name, and whose daughter was she? For the books “Jang-e Zaytun” (“The Battle of Zaytun”)

Answer

(1) Some say six months later, some say three months later — Hazrat Fatima ﵂ passed away after the beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ (“Talqih Fuhum Ahl al-Athar”, p. 15). (2) Hazrat ‘Ali ﵁ did not contract any other marriage during her lifetime — so [it is stated] in “Badhl al-Majhud”.
