The Prophethood of Adam and the Caliphate of Mu‘awiya

Question

Was Adam ﵇ a prophet or not? Also, is Hazrat Amir Mu‘awiya ﵁ counted among the Rightly Guided Caliphate (Khilafat Rashida) or not?

Answer

Hazrat Adam ﵇ also received the commands of Allah through revelation (wahy) and conveyed them; this is precisely the nature of prophethood, and in this respect he too was a prophet. The Rightly Guided Caliphate (Khilafat Rashida) mentioned in the noble hadith had already been completed before Hazrat Mu‘awiya ﵁ became amir.
