A way out of “if you take the utensils of your own accord, talaq”

Question

Zayd is one of four brothers, and all the brothers share their food and drink. Zayd lives with his wife and children on the upper floor, and Zayd’s brother lives on the lower floor with his wife and children. One day Zayd’s wife quarrelled with the wife of Zayd’s brother about utensils and the like.

Answer

Bringing words of talaq onto the tongue in anger at every little thing is very bad; always be careful about this. Now, one way is that Zayd should not live on the upper floor but on the lower floor, so that the occasion for his wife to take utensils from the lower floor to the upper floor never even arises.
