Talaq by the words “Contract a second marriage for your daughter”
Question
About sixteen years ago, when I was about six years old, my father contracted my marriage. About five years ago my husband contracted a second marriage for himself. From the time the nikah was contracted until today I have lived in my father’s house; I did not go to my husband’s place, my husband always remained unconcerned with me, and today he has become the father of one or two children.
Answer
If the husband said the words “I am contracting a second marriage; you contract a second marriage for your daughter” with the intention of talaq, then talaq has taken effect by this too, and no new ruling is needed.
