Boycott and Other Penalties for Pronouncing Talaq

Question

Question: Zayd and Bakr are two full brothers, and their wives are two full sisters. Both sisters have no understanding with their husbands in domestic matters, nor do they act in obedience and compliance to the husband; so much so that in a state of illness they left their husbands and went to their parents’ home. In this situation the home of both brothers has become a hell, and matters are not being set right; to the point that both sisters desire a written release from the marriage, i.e.

Pronouncing talaq without reason, over every trifling matter, is disliked in the Shari‘a and hateful in the sight of Allah. But when there is aversion in the hearts of both, the rights of marriage are not being fulfilled, the home has become a hell, the wives too are demanding talaq, and the husbands, being fed up, wish to pronounce talaq, then in such a situation pronouncing…
