The Drop [of Urine]: Doubt Whether It Came Out

Question

If someone, inside the prayer or before the prayer, doubts whether a drop of urine has come out, what should be done in each of the two cases: will the wudu remain as it was, or will it have to be renewed? The coming of the drop is not known for certain — whether it came or not — and at that time he cannot even look.

Answer

If that person is not a ma'dhur (excused person) according to the Shari‘a, then with the coming of the drop both the wudu and the prayer will be broken; when the drop comes, he should break the intention [of the prayer] immediately. This is when the coming of the drop is known with certainty; mere doubt does nothing — neither is the prayer broken nor the wudu.
