Discharge of Fluid while Having One’s Body Massaged, and the Obligation of Ghusl

Question

Zayd has his wife press (massage) his body; in this state his genital organ becomes erect and then a white, thick fluid comes out; or, when he goes to urinate, it comes out at that time before the urine. Is ghusl obligatory because of this or not?

Answer

If semen comes out after desire and erection — its sign being that it comes out in spurts (dafq), after it the organ becomes limp and the desire ends, and it has an unpleasant smell — then ghusl is obligatory because of its emission. If semen does not come out, ghusl is not obligatory.
