Does Masturbation (Jalq) Invalidate the Fast and Necessitate Ghusl?

Question

Masturbation (jalq) was committed, and no mani got onto the clothes and the like. In this case, is it sufficient merely to wash the private parts, or is ghusl wajib? And does it invalidate the fast or not?

Answer

If no mani came out from the masturbation, the fast was not invalidated. If madhy came out, it is sufficient to wash the member and perform wudu: ghusl is not wajib, nor was the fast invalidated. But if mani came out, then the fast was invalidated as well, and ghusl is also wajib.
