The ruling on gargling in ghusl

Question

If a person came to need a ghusl, and he performed wudu and ghusl and prayed, but did not gargle — are his prayer and ghusl valid?

Answer

Gargling in ghusl is not wajib according to the relied-upon (mu‘tamad) position. Therefore, in the case asked about, the fard of ghusl has been fulfilled, although the sunna has not been fulfilled, and the prayer with this ghusl is valid. [ar]قوله: غسل الفم والأنف، أي بدون مبالغة فيهما، فإنها سنة فيه (أي في الغسل)
