How to Purify Fennel and the Like

Question

If things that absorb impurity — such as cumin, nigella seeds, fennel and the like — become impure, what is the method of purifying them?

Answer

They should be soaked in water; after a while, when they have dried, they should be soaked in other water; then, after a while, they should be dried and soaked in a third water. By doing this three times, even such things will become pure.
