Intercourse (Wat') with One's Wife During Pregnancy

Question

What is [the ruling on] having intercourse (wat') with a pregnant wife? If it is permissible, how many days before delivery should it be stopped?

Answer

It is permissible for the husband to have intercourse with his pregnant wife, except on those days when intercourse is harmful to the child; and in this matter one should find out from a skilled physician when intercourse harms the child.
