Hayd Coming at an Irregular Time
Question
If a woman's days of hayd begin in such a way that first a few drops of blood appear, and then after that no blood at all is seen for ten days, but after the ten days the discharge of hayd begins again copiously and this continues for about five or six days — from when will the days of hayd [and] of purity be counted, for prayer and so on?
Answer
When drops first appeared and then no trace [of blood] was noticed for ten days, these few drops will not be counted as hayd; rather, these ten days will be counted as continuous purity. After that, when there was a copious flow and it lasted continuously for five days, these five days will be counted as days of hayd.
