Facing the animal towards the qibla at slaughter

Question

Question: It is necessary to slaughter an animal while facing it towards the qibla; sometimes, in haste, this is not kept in mind. Will such a slaughtered animal be lawful or not?

Answer

By not facing the qibla a sunna is left out, but the slaughtered animal does not become carrion (mayta).
