I'tikaf in One of the Various Mosques of a Settlement
Question
The village of Karast is a large settlement with a mostly Muslim population; however, it has a good number of hamlets, whose population is mostly Hindu; some hamlets have a Muslim population, and it too is mixed. Moreover, these hamlets lie at a distance from Karast — some at 6–7 furlongs (a furlong is a unit of length, ≈ 201 m), some at four furlongs, some at two furlongs. If someone performs i'tikaf in Karast, can the Muslim population of the hamlets be relieved of the i'tikaf of blessed Ramadan or not?
Answer
If all these settlements appear to be separate to the eye, then the i'tikaf of one settlement does not suffice for another.
