Ghusl during i'tikaf
Question
Is it permissible, in the state of i'tikaf, to perform ghusl (the full bath) in order to obtain rest and coolness? If one performs ghusl, should it be inside the mosque or outside? (a) Are the well, the bathing room and the place of wudu within the limits of the mosque or outside?
Answer
Performing ghusl is permissible — in the mosque itself, taking some tub or similar large vessel. And if he goes to the bathing room for istinja, he may quickly perform it there too. (a) As a rule, these places lie outside the limits of the mosque; it is not permissible for the mu'takif (the one in i'tikaf) to go there without need.
