Praying Maghrib and Flying to Where the Sun Has Not Yet Set; Completing Thirty Fasts and Travelling to Where It Is the Twenty-Ninth Fast

Question

A person prays Maghrib here and then reaches Makkah by aeroplane, where, owing to the time difference, the Maghrib prayer is only now being performed. Is it then necessary for him to perform Maghrib again? Likewise, if after breaking the fast (iftar) in Makkah, or after performing the Eid prayer, he comes to India, where people are still fasting and have not performed the Eid prayer — what should he do now: should he fast, and should he perform the Eid prayer again or not?

Answer

Out of respect for the time and in conformity with the Muslims (احتراماً للوقت وموافقة للمسلمين), he should both perform that prayer and keep the fast, even though he has already fully discharged his obligation (fard).
