Performing the Ghusl of Janaba at Eight O’Clock While Fasting

Question

In blessed Ramadan, Zayd was intimate with his wife before eating suhur, performed ghusl at eight o’clock in the day and kept the fast. Did any defect occur in the fast or not?

Answer

The fast is valid. But the sin of letting the prayer lapse (so that it became qada) is very great.
