A traveller's prayer behind a resident

Question

If a traveller prays the shortened (qasr) prayer behind a resident imam, how should he make his intention?

Answer

If a traveller prays behind a resident, qasr is not permissible — completing the prayer in full (itmam) is necessary; therefore he should make the intention for the full prayer.
