Reciting the Qur’an with the Help of a Cassette
Question
If, in order to recite the Qur’an correctly, one plays a cassette and oneself also opens the Qur’an and recites along with it, will one receive reward? Secondly, if a prostration occurs, is one prostration sufficient, or should one perform a separate one for hearing it from the cassette?
Answer
If he himself cannot recite correctly and, out of this necessity, plays the cassette and recites in accordance with it, he will certainly receive reward, and one prostration will suffice. Editor’s note: because the sound coming from the cassette is not recitation (tilawa)
