Ruling on sajda al-sahw when a word is omitted in the recitation
Question
The imam is leading a fard prayer; some word was omitted [by him], a follower prompted him, and the imam began reciting correctly, so that no word remained omitted. In this situation must the imam perform sajda al-sahw or not?
Answer
This does not make sajda al-sahw necessary (lazim). Editor’s note: sajda al-sahw becomes wajib through omitting a wajib, and in the case asked about no wajib has been omitted; therefore sajda al-sahw is not necessary (lazim).
