A woman reciting aloud in prayer

Question

If a woman prays reciting aloud (jahr), will her prayer become invalid (fasid) or not? And will the prayers she has prayed in this way have to be made up (qada') or not?

Answer

According to some jurists, a woman's voice is 'awra; by reciting aloud her prayer would become invalid (fasid). Therefore precaution requires that she not recite aloud. There is no need to repeat (i'ada) the prayers she has already prayed aloud.
