When Should the Masbuq Stand to Complete His Prayer?

Question

A person who has missed some rak‘a of the prayer: (a) should he stand at the moment when the imam, giving the salam to the right, has uttered only the word “al-salam”? Or (b) should he stand at the word “al-salam” of the [salam to the] left? Or (c) should he stand after [the imam] has given the salam to the left? Which of these three ways is best?

Answer

Way (c) is the safest and the best.
