Waking the imam if he is asleep

Question

If the imam has fallen asleep sitting in the mosque even before the time of the prayer, may the muqtadis wake him or not? If they may not, why not? And if they may, is there any prohibition in this?

Answer

Let them wake him early enough before the congregation that, if he needs wudu’, he can perform it.
