The imamate of an imam who uses foul language in the mosque

Question

What is the status of the imamate of an imam who swears and uses foul language in the mosque and does not observe the sanctity of the mosque?

Answer

Every Muslim is bound to refrain from such conduct, and the station of an imam is all the higher. If the imam does not desist, then praying behind him is makruh.
