Imamate of an Imam Who Set Up a Shop at the Mosque Door

Question

An imam set up a cupboard at the door of the mosque and opened a shop there, as a result of which the mosque’s passage became narrow for worshippers coming and going. Are such imams fit to lead the prayer?

Answer

The imam has no right to dispose [of the mosque’s property] in this way.
