The imamate of one whose father engages in an unlawful trade

Question

A certain young man is an ‘alim, a graduate of a Darul Uloom, and his father runs a business of “nikah upon nikah”. Is the young man’s imamate valid or not?

Answer

Because of this unlawful business of the father there is no defect in the young man’s imamate.
