The imamate of one whose son steals

Question

A certain man is the imam of a mosque, and his son has committed theft. Is the prayer behind this imam valid or not?

Answer

If he did not himself encourage his son to steal and is not pleased with his deed, then no defect will come to the imam’s imamate because of it.
