The imamate of one who attends improper gatherings
Question
A certain man eagerly sits in places of laughter and amusement and in places of singing and music. What is the ruling on his imamate?
Answer
Taking part in such gatherings is impermissible. If another man more suited to the imamate than him is present, then this man’s imamate is makruh; someone else should be made imam until this man repents.
