Holding a Second Congregation Away from the Mihrab

Question

A local scholar has issued a fatwa on the second congregation: “[Question:] If a congregation with adhan and iqama has already taken place once in a mosque, what is [the ruling on] holding a second congregation in it? [ar]الجواب حامداً ومصلياً[/ar] If this is a neighbourhood mosque in which the imam, the mu’adhdhin and the worshippers are fixed, then a second congregation held away from the mihrab without a second adhan is permissible by agreement and by consensus (ijma‘)

Answer

If in the mosque the imam, the mu’adhdhin and the worshippers are fixed, some scholars have written that a second congregation there is correct without karaha when it is not in the original form (hay’a ula), that is, without adhan and without iqama, and there is even consensus on this.
