The Congregation Is Waived for One with Foul Breath
Question
Such a foul smell comes from Zayd’s mouth that it is difficult to stand next to him. May such a person take part in the congregation in the mosque or not? If he may not, will he receive the reward of the mosque at home or not?
Answer
It is written in Radd al-Muhtar that the congregation is waived for a person whose mouth has such a foul smell that it causes others discomfort and the worshippers are troubled by standing next to him: he should not go to the mosque but should pray at home.
