Where to Pray If the Congregation Is Already Over

Question

On the way to the mosque a person learned that the congregation was already over, and the distance to the mosque and to his house is the same. Is it better to go home and pray there, or in the mosque?

Answer

If he is going to pray alone anyway, then it is better (afdal) in the mosque, even if the mosque is farther away.
