Lying Down Due to Weakness After the Sunna of Fajr Before the Congregation
Question
Sometimes after eating, and sometimes before Fajr when there is still some time before the congregation, I lie down for a little while in the mosque because of weakness, with the intention of i‘tikaf. [Is this permissible?]
Answer
While waiting for the congregation — after praying the sunnas or before them — in the mosque, when sitting is difficult because of weakness, there is no harm in lying down for a little while, especially after making the intention of i‘tikaf, but it should be done in such a way that one does not fall asleep.
