Leaving the mosque after the adhan

Question

If the adhan is called while a person is in the mosque, and after the adhan that person wishes to go to another mosque and pray there, what is the ruling of the Shari‘a? Is it permissible, after the adhan, to go to another mosque without need and pray there, or not?

Answer

If the congregation of the other mosque depends on this person — such that if he does not go, there will be no congregation there — then it is not makruh for him to go elsewhere and pray there; let him go there and pray. If it does not depend on him, then in that case leaving the mosque without need is makruh.
