A Fabricated Narration from the "Mi‘raj-nama"
Question
Question: In our locality there may — or may not — have lived a certain spiritual guide of the mashayikh, a saintly man. In his book “Mi‘raj-nama” (“The Book of the Ascension”) it is written that when the Prophet ﷺ was granted the Ascension (Mi‘raj), a spread was laid out upon the seventh heaven, and the Prophet ﷺ said: “I will not eat alone — someone else must be with me.” Allah Most High said: “Partake of the food!” The Prophet ﷺ said: “O Allah, keep me company!
Answer
I have not seen this report in any book — Urdu, Persian, or Arabic. To attribute words without a chain of transmission to the Noble Prophet ﷺ is by no means permissible; it is a grave sin. I have not seen this “Mi‘raj-nama” myself, nor am I acquainted with the saintly man in question. That this story is false and contrary to [the dignity of] prophethood is evident.
