Is Shaytan Able to Recite the Qur’an?

Question

Mawlana Lakhnawi related that Shaytan is not able to recite (qira’a) the Qur’an. Yet in “Sahih al-Bukhari” there is a long hadith from Abu Hurayra ﵁ in which Shaytan taught him Ayat al-Kursi — so the ability to recite was present in him after all. What is the answer to this apparent contradiction?

Answer

Such answers have indeed been given, and they have been given by the [reputable] researchers (muhaqqiqin).
