Divination Tables Printed in Copies of the Qur’an

Question

If divination is kufr, why then are divination tables printed in copies of the Qur’an? Indeed, the venerable Mawlana Ashraf ‘Ali Thanawi ﵀ has written in several of his books that this is kufr and shirk.

Answer

The divination tables in copies of the Holy Qur’an were added by the publishers/booksellers so that people would buy more. The venerable Mawlana Ashraf ‘Ali Thanawi ﵀ himself neither added them nor gave permission for them to be added.
