Nikah with the Daughter of One's Sister's Daughter

Question

Allah Most High has specified fourteen women in the Noble Qur'an, and all the women other than these fourteen with whom nikah is permissible have been clearly explained in the hadith. Now, from “And lawful for you is what is beyond that” (أحل لكم ما وراء ذلكم) it appears that nikah is permissible with all women other than the fourteen. The Noble Qur'an states the prohibition of “the daughters of the brother and the daughters of the sister” (بنات الأخ وبنات الأخت)

Answer

[ar]وتحرم عليه بنات الأخ بالنص، وهو قوله تعالى: «وبنات الأخ وبنات الأخت»، وإن سفلن بالإجماع[/ar] “And forbidden to him are the daughters of the brother by the text (nass), namely the words of the Most High: ‘…and the daughters of the brother and the daughters of the sister’ (Surah al-Nisa’, 4:23), however far down they descend, by consensus (ijma‘)” (“Bada’i‘”, vol. 2, p. 257).
